By using Real Job Check, you agree to these terms. Real Job Check is operated by Aliso LLC, a California limited liability company ("we" and "us"). Your use of the service is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect information. We wrote these terms plainly on purpose.
What the service is
Real Job Check reads a job posting and gives you an informational risk assessment, with the evidence behind it, to help you decide what to do. It is a tool to support your judgment, not a substitute for it. Assessments are produced using automated systems and may be incomplete, incorrect, or unavailable for some postings.
What it is not
- It is not a guarantee. A result of "likely legit" does not promise a posting is safe, and a result of "high risk" is an assessment, not proof.
- It is not legal, financial, or career advice.
About flagged postings
Real Job Check evaluates the posting in front of it, not the company. A high-risk flag is an assessment of that posting, not a factual accusation against any named company. Many scams impersonate real employers, so a flagged posting may be the work of an impersonator, and the real company is a victim too.
The service is provided "as is"
We work to make the service useful and accurate, but we cannot promise it always will be. To the extent the law allows, the service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that any assessment, score, evidence, or result is accurate, complete, current, or available for a given posting, and the service may have errors or downtime.
Your responsibility
Always confirm details yourself before you apply, pay, or share personal information. A low-risk or "likely legit" result is not a green light: even then, keep verifying the employer, the application process, the people contacting you, and any payment request before you act. Do not paste sensitive data such as your Social Security number or bank details. You are responsible for the decisions you make after using the service.
Acceptable use
- Use the tool to check job postings, not to abuse, overload, scrape, or copy the service.
- Free checks are subject to a daily limit. A paid plan lifts it, within fair use.
- Do not use the service to break the law, infringe anyone's rights, or harm others.
Pro subscriptions and billing
- Pro is a paid subscription that gives you checks beyond the free daily limit, plus any Pro features we make available from time to time. The price is shown when you subscribe.
- Payments run through Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number.
- Pro renews automatically for the billing period you choose, monthly or yearly, until you cancel. It renews at the then-current price, which we may change by giving you notice before a renewal takes effect. By subscribing, you authorize these recurring charges.
- You can cancel anytime from the billing portal. Your Pro access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you are not charged again after that.
- Refunds. We do not refund the current billing period, but you can cancel anytime to stop future charges. If something went wrong, reach out and we will try to make it right.
- Access. Pro is unlocked with your email, without a password. Keep access to that email secure, since anyone who can read it may be able to unlock Pro. You are responsible for activity that happens through your email-based access.
- "Unlimited" Pro use means normal individual use. It does not permit resale, sharing access with others, automated querying, or use that materially burdens the service.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or end your access at any time if you break these terms, if your use threatens the security, availability, or integrity of the service, or if we reasonably believe doing so is necessary to protect the service, our users, or others. You can stop using the service at any time.
Intellectual property
The service, including the website, software, scoring, reports, design, and the Real Job Check name and logo, belongs to Aliso LLC or its licensors. We give you a limited, personal, non-transferable right to use the service under these terms. You keep any rights you have in the text you paste. You give us permission to process that text to run your check and, in de-identified form, to improve detection, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or decisions you make based on a result. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from the service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Who can use the service
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to use the service.
Disputes and arbitration
We would rather fix a problem directly, so please reach us through our contact form first. If we cannot resolve it, you and Aliso LLC agree to settle any dispute relating to these terms or the service through binding arbitration before a single neutral arbitrator, administered by the American Arbitration Association under its consumer rules, instead of in court. Either of us may still bring a qualifying claim in small-claims court.
You and Aliso LLC each agree to bring claims only as an individual, and not as part of a class, collective, consolidated, or representative action.
You can opt out of this arbitration agreement within 30 days of first accepting these terms by telling us through our contact form. Opting out does not affect any other part of these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. For any dispute that is not arbitrated, you and Aliso LLC agree to the exclusive venue of the state and federal courts located in Orange County, California, unless the law where you live gives you the right to use your local courts.
Employers
If your company's posting was flagged and you believe that is wrong, reach us through our contact form and we will review it.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated terms here with a new "Last updated" date. If you keep using the service after the changes take effect, that means you accept the updated terms.
Events outside our control
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as outages, network failures, or other disruptions.
General
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we do not enforce a term right away, that is not a waiver of it. These terms are the entire agreement between you and Aliso LLC about the service.
